Originally from Ithaca, NY, Dr. Van Pelt is a South Carolina licensed physical therapist and SC certified athletic trainer. His education spans Ithaca College (physical education), Stony Brook University, Nova Southeastern University, and Temple University, where he earned his clinical doctorate in physical therapy along with a business degree. Before founding UPTSM in 2016, he managed healthcare programs at every level of athletics and directed health services for the Women's Tennis Association for six years. A master therapist with advanced clinical skills in treating orthopedic and sports-related injuries, he serves as Center Coordinator of Clinical Education and clinical instructor for doctoral PT students, mentoring the next generation of therapists at Clemson.

Born and raised in Boca Raton, FL, Dr. McCormick earned her Bachelor's in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Northwestern University. She is licensed in both South Carolina and Florida. A competitive soccer player growing up, she brings personal experience with injury rehabilitation to her practice. She treats orthopedic diagnoses across the lifespan and is trained in dry needling, the Graston technique, Pilates-based rehabilitation, and Ropes suspension training. Outside the clinic she enjoys hiking and cheering on the Clemson Tigers.

She earned her Bachelor's in Exercise Physiology from East Carolina University and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Virginia Commonwealth University, and is licensed in South Carolina. She specializes in treating orthopedic diagnoses and is trained in dry needling. Away from the clinic, she's married with a son and pets, and loves hiking.

Born and raised in northeast New Jersey, Dr. Corra came south for college and never looked back — he graduated from Clemson University in 2021 with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Athletic Leadership. He earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree with high honors from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in 2024, where he received the Most Outstanding Physical Therapy Student award. His clinical focus is orthopedic and sports physical therapy. Off the clock you'll find him golfing, exercising, watching football and soccer, and collecting vinyl records.

Dr. Ramirez was born and raised in the Maryland suburbs outside Washington, DC, the son of parents from Santiago, Chile — he's fully bilingual in English and Spanish. He earned his Bachelor's in Exercise Science from Towson University and his Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of South Carolina, and is licensed in South Carolina, Maryland, and Washington. He spent his first year of practice as a travel PT in Arizona and Washington before joining UPTSM. His philosophy centers on empowering patients to become the best versions of themselves by strengthening both mind and body. Outside the clinic he's into Olympic weightlifting, hiking, cooking, and riding motorcycles on street and circuit tracks.

Shawn is a licensed physical therapist in South Carolina. He grew up in Chicago, Illinois, and later moved to Nashville, Tennessee. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Charleston Southern University and his Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Florida. Throughout his clinical education he traveled to several parts of the country, gaining experience treating patients in outpatient orthopedic, sports, neurological, acute-care, and home-health settings. Working with individuals of different ages, backgrounds, and activity levels shaped his patient-centered approach to care — he especially enjoys helping active individuals overcome pain, restore function, and confidently return to the activities that matter most to them. Outside the clinic, Shawn enjoys exercising, playing golf, traveling, and spending time with family and friends, bringing that same enthusiasm for movement and healthy living into his work with patients.
